Join the Missouri REALTORS® Land Institute for a unique property tour showcasing four examples of transitional land redevelopment and commercial growth in the St. Louis region. Attendees will visit former industrial and quarry sites that have been transformed into thriving commercial, office, warehousing, distribution, hospitality, and mixed-use developments. The tour will also include a commercial site selection panel featuring experienced brokers and development professionals.

    Event Details:

    Monday, September 21 | 12:30 PM – 5:00 PM 
    Transportation provided. Shuttle boarding begins in the front of the Ballpark Hilton at 12:00 PM and departs at 12:30 PM.  

    Participants will tour the following properties: 

    • Rock City | Valmeyer, Illinois 
      A former mining site that has been reclaimed and redeveloped into a multi-use facility featuring underground warehousing and storage, office space, retail operations, U.S. Government archives, corporate offices, and distribution facilities. 

    • Bussen Quarries | Koch Road and Telegraph Road 
      Explore a redeveloped quarry site that now serves as a hub for office warehouse distribution centers and metabolic food production. Attendees will hear about current expansion plans, including an additional 25,000-square-foot tenant buildout, and view the nearby river trade and barge loading operations that support agricultural grain transportation. 

    • Quarry Redevelopment at I-270 and Des Peres Road | Des Peres, Missouri 
      Once a vacant quarry, this site has been transformed into a commercial office park featuring senior living facilities, a Courtyard Marriott hotel, corporate offices, and additional commercial development. 

    • Marriott Courtyard Des Peres 
      The tour concludes with a Commercial/Site Selection Panel featuring commercial real estate professionals who will discuss site selection criteria, redevelopment opportunities, current development projects, and industry trends. Attendees will also have time for questions and discussion.
