Columbia, Missouri – John Mayfield of Farmington, Missouri, has been named Missouri REALTORS® 2025 REALTOR® of the Year.
This prestigious award is given to a member who exemplifies “REALTOR® Spirit.” Dedication to the National Association of REALTOR’S® (NAR) Code of Ethics, efforts to encourage good real estate practices among other real estate brokers, volunteer work, and business accomplishments are among the selection considerations for this award.
Mayfield was presented with this award on Wednesday, September 24 during Missouri REALTORS® Fall Business Conference.
Beginning his real estate career in 1978 at just 18 years old, John Mayfield has spent decades championing professionalism, ethics, and education within the industry. He has served as local board president three times and held leadership roles on nearly every major committee.
A true pioneer in real estate technology, Mayfield played a key role in introducing computerized MLS and electronic lockboxes to his local board - transforming how agents work and collaborate. His business accomplishments reflect a deep commitment to innovation and education, including founding a global real estate school, launching a national training platform, and authoring several industry books.
At the national level, Mayfield has served on numerous NAR committees and represented the U.S. in over 25 countries as a speaker and liaison - sharing insights and elevating the profession globally. His dedication to real estate education has impacted thousands of professionals, earning him the Distinguished Real Estate Instructor (DREI) Award in 2020 and the Gold Standard Award from REEA in 2024.
