Client Appreciation

As the year winds down and we celebrate the holidays, keep your clients in mind. Now is the perfect time to show some appreciation to the people that continue to make your REALTOR
® dreams a reality. Here are some ideas gathered from our very own Missouri REALTOR® community that may help you plan your end-of-year client appreciation.

Send a small, thoughtful gift.

If this pandemic has taught us anything, it’s that people love receiving mail. It helps us feel connected, even in this world of social distancing and limited in-person contact. Send a business card and a note of appreciation along with one of the following ideas.

  • Lottery tickets
  • Some fun, festive stamps
  • An office holiday card
  • A seasonal recipe card (think holiday drinks or desserts!)

Drop something creative off at their front door.

Some gifts may be a bit too big for the US postal service to deliver. No problem! Leave it on your client’s front porch with a note of appreciation, and send them a text to let them know it’s there. Some examples of these drop-off gifts include:

  • Branded merchandise, like notepads, wall calendars or mugs
  • Cookies or candies with your business logo
  • A small poinsettia (be careful with pets though!)
  • A small potted succulent
  • A holiday-themed care package (with hot cocoa mix, a mini puzzle, a notepad, candy canes, etc.)

Support and promote local businesses.

This is a great opportunity to show your community a little appreciation as well. Here are some ideas on how to include local businesses in your client appreciation gifts.

  • Send out $5 gift cards from local restaurants, grocery stores or boutiques
  • Buy loaves of bread, cupcakes, cookies or pies from a local bakery to gift clients
  • Purchase a subscription to a local magazine, especially for clients new to the area
  • Buy vouchers to a holiday light show or some sort of local holiday event

Plan a virtual or socially distanced appreciation event.

Although we may not be able to gather and celebrate each other in the ways we would all prefer, there are still some creative, innovative events that can show your clients how much you appreciate them. Here are some ideas.

  • Produce a fun office video where your team virtually thanks its clients and post it all over social media
  • Invite clients and their families to a virtual trivia night
  • Host a virtual appreciation auction with clients, vendors, title companies, inspectors, lenders and their families
  • Offer a socially distanced hot chocolate stand, where clients can come grab a free hot chocolate to go

It’s already clear how much your clients appreciate your services. You’re selling them the American Dream of homeownership, after all. So let’s match that level of gratitude and make them feel incredibly valued. No matter what you choose to send or gift your clients, make sure it’s practical and personalized.
