Capitol Update: January 17, 2025 – Time Of Transition

By Missouri REALTOR Party posted 01-17-2025 02:45 PM

It’s a time of transition in Jefferson City, with new statewide officials and lawmakers taking office

This week, new statewide officials were sworn into office with traditional outdoor ceremonies on the sweeping south steps of the Capitol, followed by the formal inaugural ball inside the statehouse.

Lawmakers took their oaths of office a few days earlier, so the cast of key actors is set for 2025 and beyond. New House and Senate leaders are in place to guide the session.

Many bills are already filed, and in the coming days, the Legislature gets down to work through the end of session at 6 p.m. on Friday, May 16th. Here’s a link to keep track of key dates

Of course, Missouri REALTORS® have a significant and continuing presence and influence at the Capitol. On February 4, we resume Missouri REALTOR® Days, our series of weekly Tuesday and Wednesday visits to the Capitol by our members from across the state.

This is a great opportunity for REALTORS® to spend face-to-face time with local lawmakers at the scene of the action on measures of interest to our profession. We’d love to have your participation!
