Professional Standards

Professional Standards

REALTORS® are different from non-member licensees in that they voluntarily subscribe to a strict Code of Ethics.

In addition, REALTORS® agree as a condition of membership to arbitrate contractual disputes and specific non-contractual disputes as provided for in Article 17 of the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) Code of Ethics.

NAR provides several resources to help you understand what filing and processing an ethics complaint and arbitration request entails, and the general process you can expect when filing an ethics complaint.

FCBR Professional Standards has a service agreement with Missouri REALTORS® which will provide sufficient staff and qualified members to conduct and serve on such committees, tribunals, panels and other such groups (collectively, the Professional Standards Committee, Grievance, Arbitration, Professional Standards, Mediation, citation) as may be necessary from time to time to carry out on behalf of FCBR.

Complaints received by NAR and naming a Franklin County Board of REALTORS® member as respondent will be forwarded directly to the MR staff person who is designated from time to time to administer the Program. The current Administrator is Robert Campbell. The Administrator will be responsible for processing all paperwork and coordinating the activities of the Program, including but not limited to arranging meetings, modifications, scheduling, receiving and disbursing funds, all according to the Procedures.
