Did you miss our first Candidate Training Academy in Kansas City in August? No worries!
Missouri REALTORS® will host a Candidate Training Academy on October 24 at the St. Louis REALTORS® Office. NAR’s John Winston and REAL Strategies Justin Allen will facilitate this training alongside Missouri REALTORS®, St. Louis REALTORS®, and Illinois REALTORS® staff.
The Candidate Training Academy gives REALTORS® an introduction to and expectations of how to run for public office. It is a valuable head start in their political journey and information on how to run successful campaigns.Upon completion of this training session, participants will be able to:(1) Assess whether they possess the basic traits necessary to run for office.(2) State (in 30 seconds) why they are running for office.(3) Describe the elements necessary for developing a campaign plan and begin the planning process.(4) Discuss their research needs based on their target audience and their budget estimates.(5) Based on their individual campaign’s strengths, plan for the fundraising methods that can prove most effective and lucrative.(6) Determine the best methods for contacting their constituents, based on voter demographics and budget.(7) Analyze the electronic campaign options available and determine which, if any, will prove most effective for their outreach.(8) Assess the multiple avenues to approach a get-out-the-vote plan and determine which elements would be useful to their campaign planning.Participants will also receive "Your Competitive Edge", a 115-page participant guide on the following topics:Chapter 1: Why Run for Office?Chapter 2: Campaign Planning and BudgetingChapter 3: Research and TargetingChapter 4: FundraisingChapter 5: Voter ContactChapter 6: Winning OnlineChapter 7: Get Out the Vote (GOTV) AppendixIf you have questions, please contact Molly McVay, Director, RPAC Fundraising and Regional Advocacy (East), Missouri REALTORS®: firstname.lastname@example.org
