O2: Your Responsibility is to Understand

By Russ Cofano posted 08-21-2012 09:02 PM

By now, I hope that each of you has had the opportunity to at least watch Sharon and Jim's video about the O2 Initiative. Some of you may have even peeked at the FAQs. A few might have curled up with the revised Bylaws to really understand the implications of this new Initiative.

An incredible amount of time has been put into the development and communication of the O2 Initiative. From the resource materials available through THE LANDING to the Town Hall meetings to the Forum at the Lake, there is the opportunity for every voting Director to fully understand what their "yes" or "no" vote will do. On September 21, each Director present at the Board Meeting will do just that. Vote "yes" or vote "no".

The point of this message is not to convince you that you should vote in favor of O2. The point is to make sure that when you vote on September 21, you are fully educated and informed. That is the ultimate duty of a MAR Director: To make important decisions that will impact all members and to do so with an understanding of the ramification of their decision.

We have tried to provide a comprehensive opportunity for each Director to become educated and informed about the O2 Initiative. Now, it's your job. I hope you take advantage of this opportunity because no matter how you cast you vote on September 21, that vote will no doubt affect our 18,000 Missouri REALTORS.

'Till next time
Russ
