Rupert, here. I hope you are gearing up for our April Business Conference, April 24 – 26 in St. Louis.
If you’ve been to a business conference before, you know how it goes. You meet a bunch of really cool people and get their business cards with every intent of following up with them after the conference. Then you misplace their name or business card and come back to an office with a mile high to do list, never reaching out to or hearing from them again.
At the 2013 April Business Conference, we are making it easy for you to connect with others and stay connected via THE LANDING. On your conference name badge will be your own unique QR code (link). When attendees scan your QR code, they will automatically send you a contact “friend” request in THE LANDING. It will also pull up your profile page, so they can learn more about you and your business.
This means that potentially hundreds of people could be viewing your profile page soon, if you choose to participate. It’s time to do some spring cleaning and make sure your profile is up to date. Follow these profile page “housekeeping” tips to make sure you are ready to meet and greet:
- Be sure you know your username and password. You will have to log in to THE LANDING the first time you scan a nametag. If you don’t have your login information memorized, store it in an easily accessible place.
- Add your profile pic. It will help others put a face with a name. For tips on selecting the perfect profile picture, click here.
- Make sure your contact information is correct.
- Add your social media pages so your new contacts can easily connect with you on other networks.
