The perfect profile picture

Does your profile picture look like this?

We all know that first impressions are lasting and important. It is no different online than in the real world. The first step to connecting and engaging online, whether on The LANDING or other sites, is to upload a profile picture of yourself. But not just any picture will do. (See Mashable’s top 4 tips for selecting a profile picture below.) If your profile picture is empty because you’ve been debating on which one to use, we can help.

Wednesday, April 24 through Friday, April 26 a professional photography company, Studio 16, will be onsite at the April Business Conference to take your photo. Click here for more information and to make an appointment.

And check out these pointers on how to take the perfect profile picture…

1. Use a Recent Photo of Yourself
People need to be able to identify you quickly and easily by your profile picture. This is even more important if you have a common name.
2. Find Someone to Photograph You
They are called a professional photographer for a reason. And as the article says, your photo is more likely to be natural and engaging.
3. Be Consistent and Professional to Promote Your “Brand”
Take this opportunity to get one photo you love and then use it on every site where you have an account (The Landing, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc.). It’s best to create a consistent presence on your social media pages.
4. Keep the Focus on Your Face
Did we mention Damon Kappell, owner of Studio 16, will be taking head shots? Check out his work on the Studio 16 Facebook page.

I look forward to seeing you at the conference!
