This month, we shine the spotlight on David Nichols, a Kansas City Regional Association REALTOR® member whose leadership is defined by consistency, service, and a deep commitment to developing people and strengthening the real estate industry.
David is the owner and CEO of RE/MAX State Line + Elite, serving agents and clients throughout the Kansas City metro area. Known for building systems that support sustainable growth, David has earned a reputation not only for strong production, but for mentoring agents and helping them build scalable, long‑term businesses. His “Be Greater Than Average” philosophy has become a cornerstone of his leadership style and the culture within his organization.
An active leader at every level of the REALTOR® organization, David currently serves as the 2026 President of the Kansas City Regional Association of REALTORS® and is a Missouri REALTORS® State Director and National Association of REALTORS® Director. He is also a Past President of Heartland MLS and was the first volunteer from Heartland MLS to earn the CMLS Certified MLS Volunteer designation, reflecting his deep involvement in MLS governance, policy development, and strategic leadership.
David’s leadership has been recognized both within the RE/MAX network and the broader business community. He has been named RE/MAX Broker Owner of the Year and Broker Manager of the Year in Missouri and Kansas and was recently recognized by the Kansas City Business Journal as one of its “20 People to Know in Real Estate in 2026.” In addition, David is a public speaker and the author of Elite Agents: Proven Strategies for Launching or Relaunching a Real Estate Career, where he shares practical insights designed to help agents navigate change and build successful careers.
Beyond his professional and association leadership, David is a husband, father, and avid sailor, often drawing parallels between navigating changing winds on the water and adapting to shifts in the real estate market. His leadership reflects a steady focus on adaptability, advocacy, and service - both inside and outside the industry.
