“Real estate represents nearly one-fifth of the United States’ GDP. The meetings on Capitol Hill were an opportunity for Missouri REALTORS® to talk directly with lawmakers about the positive impact REALTORS® have in local communities and for the broader economy,” said Erin Hervey, Vice President of Government Affairs and Local Board Relations for Missouri REALTORS®.
NAR and Missouri REALTORS® support policies that will address the estimated 4.7 million home shortage in America. Increasing the supply of housing, easing market constraints, and making it easier for Americans to find homes they can afford will stabilize prices, revitalize communities, and support the American Dream of homeownership.
“As Missouri REALTORS®, we understand that addressing America's housing shortage requires bold legislative action at every level. The Housing Supply Framework Act and similar measures represent crucial steps toward unlocking the supply constraints that have made homeownership increasingly difficult for Missouri families. We're committed to supporting policies that not only increase housing inventory but also preserve the independent contractor model that allows our members to serve their communities effectively.” added Bobbi Howe, President of Missouri REALTORS®.
NAR, and state and local associations organized the meetings on Capitol Hill as a part of their advocacy efforts on behalf of the real estate industry.
