COLUMBIA, MISSOURI – Missouri REALTORS® is pleased to announce Pamela Long of Springfield, Missouri, has been named recipient of the 2024 Missouri Good Neighbor Award. This announcement took place at the Missouri REALTORS® Winter Business Conference in Kansas City on Wednesday, January 22.
Awarded annually since 2011, the Missouri Good Neighbor Award recognizes a Missouri REALTOR® dedicated to volunteer service. Each year, this recipient receives a $2,500 check for their designated charity.
Veterans Coming Home Center is a day shelter for the homeless in Springfield, MO. They provide essential services to men and women, including meals, showers, laundry services, job assistance, religious sermons, and more. Beyond just being a shelter, they strive to create a safe community for those who find themselves lost.
On August 11, 2008, NLEC opened the doors of the Veterans Coming Home Center. Since then, The Veterans Coming Home Center has become the largest and only day shelter in the city of Springfield, currently providing services for 150 to 250 people a day. Pamela Long is a dedicated volunteer at Veterans Coming Home Center with over 10 years of service, bringing meals on the 3rd Wednesday of each month in addition to clothing, supplies, toiletries, medicine, sleeping bags, tents, and more.

In addition to Long’s recognition, Ivy Grant from St. Louis, Missouri was recognized as the Missouri REALTORS® Good Neighbor Award Honorable Mention for her work with I Am My Sister Foundation; a non-profit she founded to empower single women with children to homeownership.
