As REALTORS®, we understand that protecting the American Dream of homeownership is a priority. But did you know that one of the most important ways we can protect it is by making our voices heard at the ballot box? This is why September 17, National Voter Registration Day, is so important. It’s the perfect time to double—and even triple—check that you’re registered to vote.
By registering and voting, we have the power to support candidates who prioritize real estate issues at every level of government. Whether it’s local, state, or national elections, the officials we elect shape policies that impact the real estate industry, property rights, and our ability to help clients achieve homeownership.
Here’s what you can do to prepare:
-
Check Your Registration: Don’t assume you’re registered! Take a moment to verify your voter registration status, update your information if needed, or register if you haven’t yet.
-
Research REALTOR®-Friendly Candidates: The Missouri REALTOR® Party provides resources to help you identify REALTOR® Party Champions—candidates who prioritize the issues that matter most to our profession and clients. Check out the 2024 Ballot Measures, State REALTOR® Party Champions, and the Missouri REALTORS® General Policies Guide.

Make a Voting Plan: Be proactive and create a plan for how and when you’ll vote this November. Whether by mail or in person, knowing your plan ahead of time will make the process easier.
Protecting the American Dream of homeownership requires active participation in the democratic process, and that starts with making sure you're registered to vote. Take action now—verify your registration and be ready to vote in November!
