COLUMBIA, MISSOURI – Missouri REALTORS® is pleased to share a monthly statistics report highlighting the Missouri real estate market for June 2024, including second-quarter results.
Missouri REALTORS® sold 6,854 residential properties in June. While mortgage rates remained higher in June compared to the same period last year, the median sale price increased 7.3 percent, coming in at $280,000. The average residential sale price also increased 4.8 percent from last year to $332,973.
In terms of total dollar volume, fewer home sales resulted in a 4.3 percent decrease in June compared to last year and a 1.7 percent decrease compared to May. Over 2.28 billion dollars was generated in June compared to 2.38 billion dollars for the same period last year.
Regarding 2024 second-quarter results, 20,361 homes sold in Missouri from April 1 to June 30. The total sales volume topped 6.5 billion dollars and the median sale price for the second quarter increased 5.1 percent compared to the same period in 2023, coming in at $268,000.
The Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis reported the average 30-year fixed mortgage interest rate in June 2024 was 6.92 percent nationwide. As of July 2024, that rate was 6.87 percent.
