COLUMBIA, MISSOURI – In collaboration with the National Association of REALTORS® Relief Fund, Missouri REALTORS®, the Northeast Central Association of REALTORS®, and Southeast Missouri REALTORS® are proud to make $100,000 in funds available to Missourians impacted by a tornado that hit Knox County and flooding that occurred in Adair County on August 4, 2023, as well as flooding in Bollinger County on August 13, 2023.

“The devastation to our community has been heartbreaking," said Erick Hanson, 2023 President of the Northeast Central Missouri Association of REALTORS®. "As REALTORS®, we know the importance of having a safe and secure place to live and are honored to provide financial assistance to cover mortgage payments or temporary shelter for those whose homes were impacted by these disasters."

Through October 27, 2023, residents who were displaced from or are dealing with severe damage to their primary residence may be eligible for a grant of up to $1,000. These funds are meant to assist with one month’s mortgage payment, temporary rental costs, or hotel expenses, for those displaced from their home as a result of the storm. More details about this grant program, including an application with required documentation, are available at missourirealtor.org.

Kesha Drury, 2023 President of Southeast Missouri REALTORS® stated, “We have encouraged REALTORS® across our respective regions to connect with their friends, family, and clients to let everyone know these funds are available to hopefully help ease some of the financial burden created by these storms.”

“The REALTORS® Relief Foundation was established in 2001 by then-President Richard Mendenhall, from Columbia, Missouri, to respond to disasters like the tornado in Knox County and the flooding in Adair County. Since then, REALTORS® have contributed more than $35 million to communities across the country, including those impacted by the Joplin tornadoes in 2011, the floods in St. Louis last year, and a tornado in Bollinger County just a few months ago,” said Andrea Sheridan, 2023 President of Missouri REALTORS®.
