Columbia, Missouri – Over 200 Missouri REALTORS® from across the state gathered for Missouri REALTORS® Show-Me Emerging Issues Real Estate Summit, July 16-18, at the Lake of the Ozarks.
“How many other industries gather together in mutual affection for their industry,” said Colin Mullane, 2023 REALTOR® Party Director of the National Association of REALTORS®. “This is what it is all about.”
The Show-Me Emerging Issues Real Estate Summit featuring Riding with the Brand launched Sunday evening with a Welcome Reception. The gathering allowed members to reconnect with peers from across the state in anticipation for the upcoming festivities.
Monday kicked off with Future Proof Your Business in 2023 and Beyond with WAV Group founding partner Marilyn Wilson. Educating REALTORS® on the key issues facing our industry today, Marilyn provided attendees with a prescription to thrive personally and professionally.
Throughout the morning, attendees continued to hear from a fantastic lineup of speakers including WAV Group co-founder Victor Lund during the Missouri Broker Panel. During this session, Victor spoke with industry leaders — Jason Pashia from Compass, Glenda Ide from ReeceNichols IDE Capital Realty, and Jordan Salisbury from Keller Williams Lake of the Ozarks — about market development and technology selection, optimization, and adoption.
Additional sessions equipped Missouri REALTORS® with valuable insights and strategies to tackle emerging challenges in the real estate industry. During session breaks, REALTORS® raced over to the Riding with the Brand bus to continue the dialogue. This provided attendees with an opportunity to view the Riding with the Brand tour bus while networking with NAR leadership and fellow REALTORS®.
On the final day of the Summit, Missouri REALTORS® heard from additional industry experts, including Zillow co-founder Spencer Rascoff and closing keynote and Curaytor founder Jimmy Mackin. Attention turned to crucial topics including the health of the housing market, the significance of inclusive business practices, and the importance of self-care in maintaining a successful professional routine.
Through engaging sessions and networking events, Missouri REALTORS® demonstrated what it truly means to Ride with the Brand. By bus, by boat and through their day-to-day practices, these REALTORS® exhibited unity, growth and a shared vision for the future of real estate in Missouri.
Jane Goodall stated, “What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make,” said 2023 Missouri REALTORS® President Andrea Sheridan. “From residential, commercial, and technological trends – to belonging, mental health, and creating an amazing customer experience, attendees were able to leave the Summit fired up and ready to continue making a difference in the world of real estate."
