Missouri REALTORS® are so much more than just real estate professionals. They dedicate their time to serving on school boards and running for elected positions. They educate, serve on panels, volunteer and facilitate industry discussions. Their philanthropic efforts are inspiring, and the difference they are making within their communities is significant. Our Member Spotlight series highlights these efforts and introduces some of our wonderful members.
This month, we are shining the Member Spotlight on Beatrice Covington.
Beatrice, from The Covington Connection LLC and St. Louis REALTORS®, dedicates an extensive amount of her free time to serving the Ferguson and St. Louis community. She is a community leader and a valued member of the Missouri REALTORS® family.
Some of Beatrice’s most notable community work has been with Ferguson Mayor Ella Jones’s Community Task Force, a group of appointed community leaders and residents. The mayor established this group back in September 2020 to support small Ferguson businesses. With the support of local nonprofits, the Task Force aims to establish economic stability for Ferguson restaurants, shops and other local businesses during and beyond the pandemic. Since 2019, Beatrice has actively served on the Task Force with an emphasis in real estate and homeownership affairs, as well as on the mayor’s Advisory Committee.
In terms of real estate, Beatrice participates at the local, state and national level. After holding a number of positions and earning several awards and designations, she has certainly made a name for herself as a leader in the industry. Beatrice’s work is rooted in the desire to make a sustainable difference in the communities she serves. Beatrice believes that real, tangible change is attainable with better educated, more thoughtful REALTORS®. In her eyes, it all starts with the brokerages. So she got to work to spearhead the change.
“I think it's important for you to know I am truly passionate about helping families and educating them during the real estate journey,” Beatrice said.
Beatrice is a Director, C2EX Ambassador, GRI Task Force Member, and she actively participates on the Advocacy Committee. She has also served on the Community Engagement Committee, Inclusion Advisory Group and Urban Affairs Committee. She received C2EX designations and earned her spot on the Honors Society.
In regard to awards and recognition, Beatrice has received nods from across the industry, including the Top REALTOR® award from the Missouri Housing Development Commission in 2020. Homesnap awarded Beatrice with a top 5% recognition. She earned the Service Excellence award every quarter in 2017 and 2018. Beatrice also won the Coldwell Banker Gundaker Star Award in 2017 and the Coldwell Banker Gundaker Top Agent Recognition in 2018.
We celebrate Beatrice Covington for her commitment to the Ferguson Community Task Force and to the real estate industry. Her intellectual curiosity and her knack for leadership will continue to make an impact on this Association and beyond.
