Missouri REALTORS® are so much more than just real estate professionals. They dedicate their time to serving on school boards and running for elected positions. They educate, serve on panels, volunteer and facilitate industry discussions. Their philanthropic efforts are inspiring, and the difference they are making within their communities is significant. Our Member Spotlight series highlights these efforts and introduces some of our wonderful members.
This month, we are shining the Member Spotlight on Jared Ritter.
Jared Ritter, from Ritter Real Estate, is a young, talented Missouri REALTOR® and broker/owner who has already made enormous waves in the real estate industry. At just 29 years old, he was ranked as a top selling agent in the Southeast Missouri REALTORS® MLS and has received recognition from the National Association of REALTORS®. Beyond his hard work and dedication to the real estate industry, Ritter also has a keen interest in brightening up the Cape Girardeau community.
Pivoting from a career in education and turning to the world of real estate in 2016, Ritter was an instant stand out—and not just for his company’s explosive growth over the last couple of years.
In fact, Ritter is perhaps best known as the Bright Blazer Broker among fellow REALTORS® and in the Cape Girardeau community. As the owner of over 80 different, wildly colorful blazers that he wears daily, Ritter’s wardrobe is reflective of his energy. Whether he has on neon, animal print, sequins or something holiday-themed, Ritter’s blazers have fueled what he calls the Bright Movement, a company-wide push to inspire peers and community members to be bright and bold in everything they do.
This, along with his many achievements as a REALTOR®, is what caught the eye of the National Association of REALTORS® earlier this year. Ritter was a finalist for REALTOR® Magazine’s Top 30 REALTORS® Under 30. Nearly 300 young professionals applied, and Ritter landed among the top 50 highly qualified candidates. REALTOR® Magazine selected its finalists based on skill, success, creativity and leadership in their careers. In addition to being a finalist in 2020, Ritter was the only Missouri REALTOR® to reach the top 50 in 2021.
In terms of community service, Ritter is LaCroix Church’s Xtreme Camp director and an avid volunteer. Additionally, with his background in education, it is no surprise that Ritter was elected and then reelected to serve on the Cape Girardeau Public Schools Board of Education.
