Member Spotlight: Hank Vogt

Missouri REALTORS® are so much more than just real estate professionals. They dedicate their time to serving on school boards and running for elected positions. They educate, serve on panels, volunteer and facilitate industry discussions. Their philanthropic efforts are inspiring, and the difference they are making within their communities is significant. Our Member Spotlight series highlights these efforts and introduces some of our wonderful members.

This month, we are shining the Member Spotlight on Hank Vogt.

Hank Vogt, with RE/MAX Jefferson City and the Jefferson City Area Board of REALTORS®, is a leader at heart. He works diligently to further his education, serve on committees and connect with peers at the local, state and national levels. Vogt’s leadership style is rooted in his desire to create inclusive, diverse spaces—spaces that make the American Dream of homeownership available to anyone who wants it.

Since graduating from the Missouri REALTORS® Leadership Academy in 2010, Vogt has served as Secretary, Treasurer, President and Director of his local board, all while actively participating on and/or leading every committee they have to offer. At the state level, he has vice-chaired and chaired three output groups and served on four committees. He also served as a Missouri REALTORS® Director.

Recently, Vogt introduced Missouri REALTORS® to the LGBTQ+ Real Estate Alliance, an advocacy group that will work on behalf of LGBTQ+ folks in the real estate industry. The Alliance is a space for both members of the LGBTQ+ community and its allies, and Vogt will serve as the Missouri Alliance’s inaugural President.

Thanks to Vogt’s leadership, Missouri REALTORS® is now one of the first state REALTOR® groups to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with the LGBTQ+ Real Estate Alliance. The Missouri Alliance will educate Missouri REALTORS® members on the challenges and discrimination that LGBTQ+ homebuyers encounter in their pursuit of the American Dream of homeownership. The Missouri Alliance will host regular chapter meetings and educational events in conjunction with business conferences, as well as social events throughout Missouri.

Outside of his work with this Association, Vogt serves on the Jefferson City Planning and Zoning Commission, the Industrial Development Authority and the Jefferson City East Side Business Association. Vogt was elected as Jefferson City 1st ward City Councilman last year. He is also a member of the Jefferson City Area Chamber of Commerce. Similarly, he extends his leadership skills to several philanthropic efforts in the Jefferson City community. He served the Jefferson City Multicultural Forum as President for two terms. He also volunteers with the American Cancer Society, the Samaritan Center, Habitat for Humanity and the Council for Drug Free Youth.

We celebrate Hank Vogt for his commitment to the real estate industry, to the Jefferson City community and to a better, more equitable future for Missouri homeowners of diverse backgrounds.
