Happy International Women’s Day, Missouri REALTORS®! March 8 is an annual reminder to celebrate and honor the women in this Association and in the industry at large. When women fully participate and actively lead in the real estate industry, we are better for it. By empowering and encouraging the women around us to speak up, to lead and to drive progress forward, we see positive results and growth across all aspects of real estate.
Women are essential in building up the American Dream of homeownership in Missouri and across the country. The National Association of REALTORS said it best: “Historically, women have been involved in real estate almost since its inception in 1794 and its establishment as a legitimate business in the 1840s. In real estate's early days, women filled office and clerical roles, but by the 1880s, women were already moving into the roles of agents and brokers.”
Today, 64% of REALTORS® are women. We are an industry driven by the contributions of women. They are leaders, advocates and innovators in all sorts of roles across the industry.
As an Association, we are so very fortunate to be led by a number of phenomenal women. Today, we celebrate Missouri REALTORS® President Janet Rodriguez Judd and Women’s Council of REALTORS® President Sandy Grassmuck. We celebrate the women who take on leadership roles in output groups, on committees and in the political advocacy world. We celebrate the women who take part in Leadership Academy and actively continue their real estate education. Your growth is this Association’s growth.
Tell us about the women in your office that go above and beyond for the American Dream of Homeownership. We want to hear all about their accomplishments in the comments below!
