Missouri REALTORS® are lucky to be surrounded by so many different people, from clients to fellow REALTORS®. The real estate industry is full of amazing individuals who are dedicated to their clients, their communities and their colleagues. Every Missouri REALTOR® has a unique story to tell, and our Member Spotlight series is our chance to share the stories behind the REALTORS®.
This month, we are shining the Member Spotlight on Dave Soto.
Dave Soto, a member of the Southeast Missouri REALTORS®, has never shied away from the unknown. He was born and raised in Los Angeles, where he lived until his wife convinced him to move to her hometown: Perryville, Missouri. Dave left the big city life for a town with a population of 7,000, and the risk paid off. He found that the midwestern lifestyle suits him, and he still lives in Perryville today.
Dave took another risk when he left his job in the computer service industry to become a REALTOR®. He stumbled into real estate by accident (he meant to sign up for a real estate investment course but walked into a licensing class instead), but he quickly found a passion for the industry. He became a full-time REALTOR® in 2008 and hasn’t looked back since.
Dave has been involved in the Missouri REALTORS® community since he began his real estate career. He hasn’t missed a state conference since his first one in 2009, and he has been involved in many advocacy groups over the years. He is currently the vice chair of the Economic Development Output Group, a member of the Advocacy Mission Committee, and an RPAC trustee. Dave also serves his local board, where he has been on multiple committees, sat as the local and state director, and served as president twice.
Dave’s move to Perryville and his big career change both paid off. Sometimes, our riskiest decisions are our best ones.
If you’re in the community spotlight or know someone who is, let us know. We’d love to shine our Missouri REALTORS® Spotlight on you!
