Missouri REALTORS® are not only real estate professionals, they’re so much more. They dedicate their time to serving on school boards, in elected positions and volunteering their time to make communities a better place to be. They’re educators, serving on panels and facilitating industry discussions. Their philanthropic efforts are inspiring and the difference they are making within their communities is significant. Our Member Spotlight series highlights these efforts and introduces some of our wonderful members!
This month, we are shining the Member Spotlight on Ricky L. Hopkins, SR.
Serving the St. Louis community through his work at St. Louis REALTORS®, Ricky L. Hopkins, SR, REALTOR® with A-List REALTORS® LLC in St. Louis, served as the Vice Chairman of Community Engagement in 2016 for the St. Louis REALTORS®, and Chairman in 2017. During his time as Vice Chairman, Ricky led the charge in recruiting fellow REALTORS® to volunteer for Big Rebuild Day. The Big Rebuild Day focuses its efforts on rebuilding low-income communities in the St. Louis area.
As Chairman, Ricky increased St. Louis REALTORS® philanthropic efforts from $20,000 in 2016 to $50,000 in 2017. Under his leadership, the Community Engagement Committee is now the largest committee within St. Louis REALTORS® and has the attention of NAR, Missouri REALTORS®, and state and local politicians.
Ricky has continued his efforts in his St. Louis community. He currently serves on the Foundation’s Board of Directors for St. Louis REALTORS®, the Executive Board of Directors of St. Louis REALTORS®, as Board Chair for the St. Louis REALTORS® Housing Foundation, and on the Board of Directors for the world famous St. Louis Zoo.
