What makes Missouri REALTORS® so great are the members that we have. Not only do we care about real estate, but we care about each other as well. We know that by investing in our fellow REALTORS® we are making our community, and the industry as a whole, stronger. That’s why we created  REALTORS® Leadership Academy, a program that trains emerging leaders so they may exert a positive influence on the future of the real estate industry. Our Leadership Academy Alumni Member Spotlight series highlights the graduates of the program. We want to introduce some of our wonderful REALTOR® leaders and showcase how Leadership Academy helped them grow. This month we are shining our spotlight on Jennifer Langston-Justus.

Jennifer Langston-Justus, a member of the Kansas City Regional Association of REALTORS®, has been a REALTOR® since she graduated high school. During college, she juggled school, selling real estate, bartending, serving-and even managing a restaurant. Once she graduated from Rockhurst University, she worked at Hallmark as a financial analyst, but after a year and a she went back to real estate full time. She loves being a Missouri REALTOR®, a job that allows her to live close to her friends and family while helping other families build their own futures together.

“One of my favorite things about being a REALTOR® is seeing a family bloom and helping from grandparents to children,” she said. “I’ve been blessed to work with generations of families!”

Langston-Justus enjoyed serving on the Women’s Council of REALTORS®, both at the state and local level, and she wanted to get even more involved in her local board and the state association. She applied for the program because she knew Leadership Academy would help her reach those goals.

Langston-Justus graduated in 2017, and she’s already seen the impact that Leadership Academy has made. She was appointed to the Missouri REALTORS® Finance and Budget Committee for 2018 and is currently the Major Investor Chair for RPAC at KCRAR. She wouldn’t change anything about her Leadership Academy experience.

“We had the most cohesive class from the very first time we had a retreat,” she said. “We have amazing bonds and greater understandings of each other and I look forward to being on the leadership team together one day.”

If you are interested in applying for Leadership Academy, applications open in February 2018 and will be due in April 2018. We would love to have you in the next class!
