Holiday gift boxes

It’s officially the season of giving, but REALTORS® give gifts all year long. With so many closing gifts to worry about, it’s easy to feel burnt out by the time the holidays come around. You may even be considering giving everyone you know a bottle of wine and calling it a day. While this isn’t a bad idea, there are other gifts that work well as both holiday presents and closing gifts.

We’ve compiled a gift guide of items that work for any recipient, whether it be your mom on Christmas morning or a client in the middle of July. And each one is so thoughtful that no one will suspect that you’ve given it before!

1. Personalized throw pillows. Throw pillows are a staple on most couches, so they’re sure to be appreciated. Personalizing them takes them from a common household item to an incredibly thoughtful gift. Check out New Nest Pillows for options that are great for any homeowner. Every style is the same price and you can even customize the tag. Another great place to look is Etsy, where you can find pillows or pillow covers at many different price points. And if you like DIY projects, you could even craft your own.

2. Map art. New homeowners often need decorations, and friends and family will love a piece of art that is personal to them. Consider giving clients a piece featuring a map of their new city, or give family and friends who have moved away a map of your hometown. You could also give a print of Missouri with a heart over where they live if that seems more their style. Put it in a nice frame and you have the perfect present!

3. Keychains. People use their keys every day, but they rarely think about giving their key chain an upgrade. When you hand a client their new keys, attach a personalized keychain as a thoughtful gesture. You can get key chains for family and friends too, but consider giving a trendy one to girls or a classic leather option to guys. They also make great stocking stuffers.

4. The gift of choices. If you’re completely stumped on what to give someone, Loop and Tie is the perfect option. All you have to do is choose an amount to spend, from $25 all the way up to $500, and they do the rest. Your gift recipient will receive an email inviting them to choose a gift from the price range you selected (but they won’t know how much it was). They can choose from categories such as lifestyle, food, drink, or home. It will then be shipped to them for no additional cost. It’s a much trendier, and more personal, alternative to a gift card.

5. Subscriptions. Give gifts that keep on giving with subscriptions. You can give a subscription to a magazine, like Good Housekeeping (only $8 for a year!) or In Style ($15 a year). If you’re looking to splurge a bit, you could even go for a subscription box. Sock Fancy will send them a pair of socks every month while Graze will ship out a box full of healthy snacks. There are subscription boxes for almost anything, from razors to makeup to pet toys. You can choose to give three, six, or twelve months depending on your budget and the cost of the box itself.

Gift giving doesn’t have to be exhausting. Anything on this list could be given to family, friends, or clients. Just choose your favorite, pair it with a card, and give it as a holiday or closing gift!
