What makes Missouri REALTORS® so great are the members that we have. Not only do we care about real estate, but we care about each other as well. We know that by investing in our fellow REALTORS® we are making our community, and the industry as a whole, stronger. That’s why we created Missouri REALTORS® Leadership Academy, a program that trains emerging leaders so that they may exert a positive influence on the future of the real estate industry.
Our new Leadership Academy Alumni Member Spotlight series highlights the graduates of the program. We want to introduce some of our wonderful REALTOR® leaders and showcase how Leadership Academy helped them grow. This month we are shining our spotlight on Hank Vogt.
Hank Vogt, REALTOR® with the Jefferson City Area Board of REALTORS®, had a career in personnel management and human resources before he got involved in the real estate industry. One of his former co-worker’s had quit her job to become a REALTOR®, and her experience prompted Vogt to leave the corporate world behind and pursue a life in real estate.
Vogt began to get involved at his board. A fellow REALTOR®, who was going through Leadership Academy at the time, noticed Vogt’s involvement and recommended he apply for the program.
“Going through Leadership Academy and getting involved in leadership has been the best thing I have done for me personally, and my career. It has given me the opportunity to give back to my industry and advocate on behalf of my clients,” said Vogt.
Since graduating from Leadership Academy in 2010, Vogt has served on every committee at his local board and has chaired most committees. He has also served as Secretary, Treasurer, President, Local Director and Missouri REALTORS® Director. At the state level, Vogt has Vice-Chaired and Chaired three output groups and served on four committees. He even attends National Association of REALTORS® conferences.
After completing Leadership Academy, Vogt took his leadership skills to the Jefferson City Multicultural Forum where he served as President for two terms. He also volunteers with the American Cancer Society, the Samaritan Center and Habitat for Humanity.
“My favorite part about attending Leadership Academy was the networking and friendships made with REALTORS® from across the state. The instructors, classes and training are second to none and I am so grateful I had the opportunity to participate,” said Vogt.
If you are interested in applying for Leadership Academy, applications open in February 2018 and will be due in June 2018. We would love to have you in the next class!
