Do you snap? Seriously. You may know every nook and cranny of Facebook, but Snapchat is currently the fastest-growing social media app,1 and it boasts more daily users than Twitter.2

With Snapchat, you record 10-second clips or take pictures with your mobile device. Then, you send these videos and images to specific users or publish them for your followers to see.

Read on to learn how your snaps can lead to real estate connections and clients.

Snapchat Misconceptions
You may believe Snapchat is designed for bored pre-teens who have too much time on their hands. This couldn't be farther from the truth, as 71% of Snapchat users are between the ages of 18 and 34.1

As a busy real estate professional, you may think, "Those demographics look great, but why should I put effort into vanishing content?" Yes, Snapchat videos disappear after viewers watch them. But this works in your favor, as the average adult only has an attention span of eight seconds, and your snaps will hold your followers' undivided attention.1

Snapchat Basics
Go here to download Snapchat. After the app is installed on your mobile device, you create a Snapchat login. You then sign in and go through a quick tutorial. Watch this video or visit Snapchat Support for more tips and insights.

Like Brohm, Wang uses the My Story feature, which is a running daily diary that disappears after 24 hours.

Look Who's Snapping
Though powerhouse companies like Gatorade, Nike, and General Electric use Snapchat to promote their product, you don't need a big budget or advanced equipment to start snapping today. Just break out your phone and your knowhow, and you'll be well on your way to finding new clients and connections with Snapchat.
