After attending the Missouri REALTOR Business Conferences I am always energized and excited. Several times per year, we meet throughout the state. There are a few hundred of the top agents and brokers from across the state that actively participate. Many of the agents are seasoned, yet we come from all age groups and locations. We come together to share our knowledge and experiences as we work collaboratively to make Missouri a better place to sell real estate. Every January we gather in our State Capitol to meet with our legislators. Our elected officials count on Missouri REALTOR members to educate them on all things real estate. What an amazing experience! We discuss real estate issues that impact the lives of all Missourians with the elected officials that have the ability make things happen. We play a critical role in the fight for home-ownership and keeping the economy moving forward.
So, you aren't into politics? Don't think walking the halls of the Capitol is going to do anything for you? Let me assure you, the personal rewards are abundant. Starting with the relationships. This was my 3rd Capitol Conference and I have visited with nearly every state representative in St. Charles County and nearby. Big deal? Ever have a problem and not know who to call? Natural disaster? Being able to pick up the phone, call your elected officials and get personal assistance? PRICELESS! Another thing to consider....When real estate sells, the economy does well. Many issues beyond housing greatly impact home-ownership and we help our legislators understand how certain bills could effect the market and thus the entire economy. The personal satisfaction I gain making this impact has been more rewarding than I could have imagined.
Following the powerful Capitol meetings are the Missouri REALTOR Business Meetings. Not into meetings? Now really, who is? While meetings may not seem real exciting, these meetings are productive gatherings of top professionals working to improve our industry. Some of the discussions included taxes on our commissions and the complete overhaul of state license laws. WE HAVE A VOICE! It only works when MANY of us use our voices. Having a seat at the table helps ME to stay at the top of our profession. I rely on our association to provide educational opportunities and the tools I need to succeed in business. Spending time with agents of many different perspectives has helped me to sell more real estate. Most agents involved with the association openly share their successes and failures and seek to help others build their businesses.
Helping others is the fastest sustainable way to grow your business!

Take Classes that focus on your weaknesses.

Learn from others mistakes.
Share what you know and grow!
