I can personally attest to the fact that much hard work and many member hours were put into the development of the O2 Initiative. That, however, pales in comparison to the work that is before us now for O2 to deliver on its promise of producing more value to Missouri REALTORS.
Yesterday, I posted a message in Common Ground that explained the process where members can show their interest in becoming an O2 leader (click here). While we still have the Board of Directors meeting on October 29 to formally approve O2, I think the overwhelmingly positive vote on September 21 is a sign that the Board will do what is necessary to move O2 forward.
If that happens, we need leaders to step forward so that O2 can take flight. Whether you think you are best suited as a member of the Executive Committee, want to lead a Mission Committee or would rather head up an Output Group on Leadership Development, I encourage you all to think about how you can best serve our Association and your fellow members.
O2 is all about Outreach and Output. As such, O2 leaders will be members who:
- Are passionate about getting things done and want to spread that passion to others;
- Are innovative and are not afraid to take some risks in trying some new things to increase MAR's relevancy to our members; and
- Are able to work through the infancy of O2 and contribute to its success.
During the SAC meetings, we used the following quote to help motivate our thinking.
“I have been impressed with the urgency of doing. Knowing is not enough; we must apply. Being willing is not enough; we must do.” Leonardo da Vinci
Our urgency now is to find leaders for O2. I hope you are up for it!
