In collaboration with the National Association of REALTORS® Relief Foundation, the Missouri REALTORS® Relief Foundation was proud to have provided $325,295 in relief to 384 families impacted by the tornadoes that swept across Missouri on May 16, 2025.

“The damage from these storms has been truly heartbreaking,” said Bobbi Howe, 2025 President of Missouri REALTORS®. “As REALTORS®, we know the importance of having a safe and secure place to live and we are honored to provide financial assistance to cover mortgage payments or temporary shelter for those whose homes were impacted by this disaster.”

Residents who were displaced from or dealt with severe damage to their homes were eligible for grants to assist with one month’s mortgage or temporary rental or hotel expenses. The funds were provided by the National Association of REALTORS® Relief Foundation and administered by the Missouri REALTORS® Relief Foundation.

“The REALTORS® Relief Foundation was established in 2001 by then-President Richard Mendenhall, from Columbia, Missouri, to respond to disasters like the tornadoes in St. Louis and Southeast Missouri. Since then, REALTORS® have contributed more than $50 million to communities across the country, including those impacted by the Joplin tornadoes in 2011, as well as the floods in St. Louis in 2022,” said Howe.

To ensure people knew about this grant program, Howe noted that, “REALTORS® connected with friends, families, and their client networks to let everyone know these funds were available to hopefully help ease some of the financial burden created by the tornadoes.”

For those who would like to contribute to help us assist with future disasters, donations may be made online at missourirealtor.org/foundation or at rrf.realtor/donate.
