Columbia, Missouri – Missouri REALTORS® throughout the state participated in the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) 2023 REALTOR® Volunteer Days, June 3-11. This exciting initiative encouraged REALTORS® to participate in the REALTORS® Are Good Neighbors nationwide philanthropic initiative while maximizing the impact of their volunteer time.
“Across the country, nearly 66% of all REALTORS® volunteer monthly in their community,” said Andrea Sheridan, 2023 President of Missouri REALTORS®. “Giving back is part of who we are as both people and as professionals.”
Throughout the state, more than 250 REALTORS®, brokerages, and affiliates participated in over 30 activities for REALTOR® Volunteer Days. “Building strong communities is what we do as REALTORS®,” said Jennifer Reed, REALTOR® with Meyer & Company Real Estate. “Volunteering isn't something we do just during REALTOR® Volunteer Days, but year-round.”
Volunteer activities consisted of packing meals at local food banks, collecting books and donations for libraries, supporting charitable events, assisting with humanitarian initiatives, and much more. Within a single week, community initiatives led by REALTOR® volunteers positively impacted thousands of Missouri residents. “Volunteer work is a selfless act,” said Jennifer Tracy, REALTOR® with Legacy Outdoors. “It is needed to help small communities flourish."
To encourage involvement, Missouri REALTORS® hosted a campaign providing REALTORS® Are Good Neighbors t-shirts to groups of members participating in a REALTOR® Volunteer Days activity June 3-11. Members were encouraged to wear their shirts while volunteering and share photos of their activity.
