COLUMBIA, MISSOURI – Missouri REALTORS® is pleased to share with you a monthly statistics report highlighting the Missouri real estate market for the month of November.
Missouri REALTORS® sold 5,689 residential properties in November. The median sales price was also up 4.9 percent compared to last year, coming in at $232,000. While mortgage rates were much higher in November compared to the same period last year, the slight decrease in October likely contributed to this increase. The average residential sale price also increased 4.4 percent from last year to $276,121.
In terms of total dollar volume, an increase in the median sales price coupled with fewer home sales resulted in a 25.6 percent decrease in November. Over 1.5 billion dollars was generated in November compared to 2.1 billion dollars for the same period last year.
Additionally, the average 30-year fixed mortgage rate was 6.81% in November 2022, a slight decrease from October 2022, but up more than 120% from November 2021 when it was at 3.07%, on average.
