Missouri REALTORS® are not only real estate professionals – we're so much more. We're active in the community - serving on school boards, in elected positions and volunteering our time to make communities where we work a better place to be. We're educators – serving on panels and facilitating industry discussions. Our new series, Member Spotlight, will allow us to introduce you to the many personalities that make up Missouri REALTORS®.
This month's Member Spotlight is Patti Brayfield.
After noticing the growing population of homeless teens in her town of Lebanon, Patti Brayfield, REALTOR® at Patti Brayfield, Broker, she knew she had to help. Brayfield wanted to create a welcoming place for at-risk and homeless teens to help them reach their full potential. In 2015, she organized a board of directors and began fundraising for a facility. Through her efforts and those of the board members, Project 360 Youth Services, Inc. was launched. The nonprofit organization collaborates with churches, other nonprofits and community leaders to help teens in need without judgment of choices or circumstances.
Through her volunteer work in 2015, Brayfield served at least 98 young people, recruited more than 28 volunteers to staff the center and raised more than $60,000. She also works with the local community college and Career Center to help students, who have dropped out of high school, earn their GED. Without her service and dedication, Project 360 Youth Services, Inc. and The Sound House (A Place Where Everyone is Heard) , the center location, would not exist today. The services provided by the organization will help create a better and more successful future for the Lebanon
The Sound House is a safe place for teens to spend time with one another, do homework, eat a warm meal, speak to a mentor and receive job placement and training. The resource center includes a laundry room, showers, a computer lab, recreational activities and a closet full of clothing. Sound House opened in August of 2015, and is open Monday-Friday from 3 p.m.-7 p.m.
Brayfield was a 2015 Missouri REALTOR® Good Neighbor Award nominee.
