Dr. Kirchner leads research, provides economic analysis and conducts forecasts on economic and housing market trends. He is frequently interviewed by the media and asked to present at real estate industry events.
Based in the Washington, DC area, he stays abreast of important policy developments affecting the housing market and collaborates with associations and think tanks on potential research initiatives. Joe brings over 30 years of experience in social policy research, including 7 in housing. He led numerous research projects for the US Departments of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Labor (DOL), Agriculture (USDA), Health and Human Services (HHS) and the United Nations.
He earned his doctorate in economics from the New School for Social Research and his BA in political science and economics from Manhattanville College. Dr. Kirchner joined realtor.com® in March 2015.
