Missouri REALTORS® is pleased to share with you a monthly statistics report highlighting the Missouri real estate market for the month of June.
In June, Missouri REALTORS® sold 8,761 residential properties. Of those sales, the average residential property sold for $306,973. Compared to the average sale price of $273,837 in June of 2021, there was a 12.1% increase. The median residential sale price also increased from $227,250 in 2021 to $260,750 in 2022.
In terms of total dollar volume, Missouri REALTORS® saw a decrease of one percent. Over 2.6 billion dollars in June of 2022 was generated compared to 2.7 billion dollars for the same period last year.
Additionally, interest rates in June saw continued growth. According to Freddie Mac, the national average commitment rate for a 30-year, conventional, fixed-rate mortgage was 5.52 percent in June compared to 5.23 percent in May. By comparison, the interest rate in June 2021 was 2.98 percent.
Regarding second quarter results, 24,077 residential properties sold in Missouri from April to June. The total quarterly sales volume topped seven billion dollars and homes sold at an increased pace during the second quarter of 2022, staying on the market for 25 days. That is three days less compared to the same three-month period last year. The median sales price for the second quarter increased 13.2 percent compared to the same period in 2021, coming in at $249,000.
