Just a friendly reminder from Missouri REALTORS® that Friday, March 5 is Employee Appreciation Day. We believe it’s the perfect opportunity to make a meaningful gesture to your support staff. Show them that their hard work does not go unnoticed and that they play an essential role at your brokerage.
We’ve curated ten ideas that will celebrate your staff and make them feel seen and valued.
- Give support staff a half day. Let them take off early this Friday to enjoy the nice weather or take an afternoon nap. They’ve earned it.
- Write Thank You notes. An oldie but a goodie. You can’t go wrong with handwritten, personalized notes to your staff members. Emphasis on personalized.
- Offer a dessert buffet. This could manifest in an ice cream bar, where staff selects from cones, ice cream flavors and toppings to build their own sundaes. Or bring in a variety of cookies and cupcakes from your favorite local bakeries.
- Buy small gifts. Get creative with it. Buy your staff new stationary, office merch or gift cards. And throw in a thank you note too.
- Show some social media love. Create Facebook or Instagram posts that shout-out your staff and the specific, wonderful things they do for the office.
- Set up a team picnic. Take advantage of the nice weather and invite your staff on a picnic in a nearby park. Provide lunch from a favorite local restaurant and prepare some bonding activities.
- Throw a pizza party. This one is pretty self-explanatory. Order a variety of pies from your favorite local pizzeria and treat your staff to lunch.
- Give out support staff awards. Do you have an MVP? A stand out performer? Someone who consistently goes the extra mile? Buy small trophies or print out certificates with unique award titles for your exemplary staff members.
- Organize a ping-pong tournament in the office. Set up a table in a spare conference room and prepare a prize for the winning duo.
- Send out a company-wide newsletter that highlights the different achievements of your support staff.
