forrest.jpgMissouri REALTORS® are not only real estate professionals – we're so much more. We're active in the community – serving on school boards, in elected positions and volunteering our time to make communities where we work a better place to be. We're educators – serving on panels and facilitating industry discussions. The philanthropic efforts of our members are inspiring and the difference they are making within their communities is significant. Our Member Spotlight series highlights these efforts and introduces some of our wonderful members.

This month, we are shining the Member Spotlight on Forrest Stodghill, a member of Ozark Gateway Association of REALTORS®.

Forrest recently started a new program, Read With a REALTOR®, which provides opportunities for REALTORS® to read to classrooms in local schools.

Forrest, a father of six himself, thought of the idea after he volunteered to read to students at his children’s school. He enjoyed it so much, and got such a positive response from the children and teachers, that he wanted to share the experience with his fellow REALTORS®.

Forrest has already recruited more than 25 REALTORS® to the program. They take turns reading in several local schools, which are constantly calling to get involved with the program. Forrest would love to see Read With a REALTOR® grow to the state, and eventually national, level. If you are interested in adopting the program, let him know!

Forrest was a 2017 Missouri REALTORS® Good Neighbor Award nominee.

If you’re in the spotlight in your community or know someone who is – let us know. We’d love to shine our Missouri REALTORS® spotlight on you!
