kelly.jpgMissouri REALTORS® are not only real estate professionals – we're so much more. We're active in the community – serving on school boards, in elected positions and volunteering our time to make communities where we work a better place to be. We're educators – serving on panels and facilitating industry discussions. The philanthropic efforts of our members are inspiring and the difference they are making within their communities is significant. Our Member Spotlight series highlights these efforts and introduces some of our wonderful members.

This month, we are shining the Member Spotlight on Kelly Stackhouse, a member of West Central Association of REALTORS®.

Kelly dedicates her time and energy to the Benton County Cancer Fund, which provides funds to residents of Benton County who have been diagnosed with cancer. Recipients receive up to $750 to help with expenses, which can include anything from transportation costs to purchasing a wig.

The Benton County Cancer Fund raises funds through events such as a Mother’s Day carnation sale, pancake breakfasts and Benton County Dinner and Dance. But the largest fundraiser is the annual golf tournament, which Kelly is the Director of.

When organizing the tournament, Kelly contacts contributors, secures players and handles all paperwork and funds. Each year the golf tournament raises around $10,000. Last year alone, Kelly’s hard work was able to serve around 60 different people in her community who were diagnosed with cancer.

Kelly was a 2017 Missouri REALTORS® Good Neighbor Award nominee.

If you’re in the spotlight in your community or know someone who is – let us know. We’d love to shine our Missouri REALTORS® spotlight on you!
