Missouri REALTORS® are not only real estate professionals – we're so much more. We're active in the community – serving on school boards, in elected positions and volunteering our time to make communities where we work a better place to be. We're educators – serving on panels and facilitating industry discussions. The philanthropic efforts of our members are inspiring and the difference they are making within their communities is significant. Our Member Spotlight series highlights these efforts and introduces some of our wonderful members.
This month, we are shining the Member Spotlight on Chuck Maher.
Chuck Maher, REALTOR® with Realty Executives Premiere in Eureka, serves as president of the Eureka Police Officers Support Fund, an organization aimed at strengthening the bond between law enforcement officers and the community. Chuck organizes fundraising, gathers donations, encourages others to get involved, leads the group and comes up with creative events.
Chuck organized “Coffee with a Cop,” an event that allows the public to meet with officers to strengthen the public’s trust. He plans several other community outreach events each year, including a barbecue for officers and their families to boost morale. Law enforcement is a traditionally thankless profession, but Chuck reminds officers of their importance and the community’s appreciation. His efforts have helped bring the community together and support officers in a time of negativity for the profession.
The Eureka Police Officers Support Fund champions community support, partnership and outreach for the professional men and women who fulfill the public safety mission of the Eureka Police Department. The fund exists to help support the financial needs of the Eureka Police Department law enforcement officers and their families in times of crisis or disaster.
Chuck was a 2016 Missouri REALTOR® Good Neighbor Award nominee.
