Ann HaltermanWhat makes Missouri REALTORS® so great are the members that we have. Not only do we care about real estate, but we care about each other as well. We know that by investing in our fellow REALTORS® we are making our community, and the industry as a whole, stronger. That’s why we created Missouri REALTORS® Leadership Academy, a program that trains emerging leaders so that they may exert a positive influence on the future of the real estate industry.

Our new Leadership Academy Alumni Member Spotlight series highlights the graduates of the program. We want to introduce some of our wonderful REALTOR® leaders and showcase how Leadership Academy helped them grow. This month we are shining our spotlight on Ann Halterman.

Ann Halterman, REALTOR® with Kansas City Regional Association of REALTORS®, dreamed of being an archaeologist growing up. She never did pursue archaeology, instead opting for a career in business. She then made the switch from business to real estate in 1999, which is a career she now loves.

“My favorite part of being a REALTOR® is that nothing is ever the same! No transaction is alike; the personalities are different. I get to meet a lot of people, from all areas of the spectrum. Boredom is never an issue,” said Halterman.

After graduating from Leadership Academy in 2011, Halterman was elected to serve as a Kansas City Regional Association of REALTORS® Board Member. She has also been a Missouri REALTOR® Director since 2008 and has served on various committees throughout the years. She even helped design and present the new Missouri REALTORS® logo and brand promise.

Since graduating from Leadership Academy she also became involved in the Liberty School Foundation, Historic Downtown Liberty, Inc., Old Liberty High School Celebration and The China Slaughter Reading Park.

“My favorite part of Leadership Academy has been the special friendships that have been made, and which continue to prosper, since we began in 2010. That has been an invaluable added bonus for me,” said Halterman.

If you are interested in applying for Leadership Academy, applications open in February 2018 and will be due in April 2018. We would love to have you in the next class!

Ann is also very perceptive...I enjoy her thought process and her keen observations/contributions.  That's why she is such a valuable resource to MR.  And we were in the best class ever!
