Missouri REALTORS®,

We have only four weeks left in this session. With little time left, I expect we will begin to see most of our progress take place. To be honest, I had hoped we might have a breakthrough with at least one of the MONA bills. I expect I was too confident. As always, there is still a possibility, but it appears to be a long shot now.

In other news, we have a new member of the Missouri Real Estate Commission. Loren R. Coleman, a member of the Kansas City Regional Association of REALTORS®, was recently appointed to this position by Governor Mike Parson. I had the pleasure of meeting Loren at her confirmation hearing. Senator Barbara Washington (Loren’s senator) very kindly introduced Jason Zamkus and me. She made very kind remarks about us that we must now live up to. The following day, the Senate gave their advice and consent to Coleman’s appointment to the Commission.

In addition to Coleman’s appointment, there is also a new member of the Missouri Real Estate Appraisers Commission – Tyler Seth Johnson.

In way of legislation, critical topics have not moved much from the previous week. For that reason, I will continue to research additional legislation to which we can amend our materials. I’ve found several pieces, but more opportunities are always better.

Sincerely,

Sam Licklider
Chief Lobbyist, Missouri REALTORS®
