Missouri REALTORS®,

The 2022 REALTORS® Legislative Meetings recently concluded in National Harbor, MD., just outside of Washington, D.C. It was an exciting and productive week!

Before we review meeting highlights, I want to recognize our National Directors and members who serve on committees at the national level, as well as all Missouri REALTORS® who participated in this conference. Your dedication to our state association does not go unnoticed. More than 100 REALTORS® from Missouri were in attendance at the event.

A highlight of the week was our Missouri lunch, which featured an opportunity to hear from our Missouri Senators. We welcomed and heard from U.S. Senator Roy Blunt on current legislative priorities, including those directly affecting our industry. For those not aware, Senator Blunt is serving his last term before retiring. We would like to thank Senator Blunt for his many years of service not only to Missouri but also to our industry. Missouri REALTORS® also had the opportunity to meet with their legislative staff members throughout the week to discuss topics of interest at the local level.

Additionally, 23 Missouri REALTORS® were inducted into the RPAC Hall of Fame for their investment in RPAC!

During NAR’s Board of Directors meeting, National Directors elected the association’s 2023 Leadership Team and Regional Vice Presidents. A hot topic of discussion, among many other items, was the increase of the annual special assessment from $35 per year to $45 per year to support the increased cost of media buys for the “That’s Who We R” campaign. Directors voted to extend the $45 assessment through 2027.

Additional action items:

  • Fair Housing
  • Property Inheritance
  • Insurance
  • Legal Action
  • Membership Policy & Board Jurisdiction
  • Professional Standards
  • Aid for Ukraine

For in-depth information regarding each of the action items listed above, visit the 2022 Board of Directors’ Special Report.

Sincerely,

John D. Mayfield
President, Missouri REALTORS®
