As a follow-up to our recent Winter Business Conference, I want to share some memorable highlights with you. During the Winter Business Conference, which took place January 19-21 in St. Louis, we hosted in-person meetings with a virtual attendance option. As always, our goal is to make the experience as engaging for those joining online as it is for those attending in person.
We kicked off the event with our Opening General Session featuring Paul Smith, one of the world’s leading experts on organization storytelling. Paul is one of Inc. Magazine’s Top 100 leadership speakers, a storytelling coach, and author of Amazon's #1 bestsellers, Lead with a Story and Sell with a Story. As you can imagine, Paul was a huge hit with our members.
On Thursday afternoon, following our annual Candidate Forum, we hosted the Emerging Issues Forum. Titled “Cybersecurity is Everyone’s Responsibility,” we heard from a tremendous panel which included Special Agent Brian Cockrill of the United States Secret Service, Lorne Joseph, founder and CEO of ESG.org, Shelbi Rombout, deputy chief information security officer at U.S. Bank, and Chris DeRosa, member information and eCommerce product leader with the National Association of REALTORS®. It was great to hear from these subject matter experts on incredibly interesting and timely discussion!
Thursday evening, we hosted Inaugural Night. This is the night all officers of the organization are sworn in. In this specific instance, for 2022. Andrea Sheridan was respectively sworn in as President-Elect, Derek Schriewer as Treasurer, and Janet Rodriguez Judd as Immediate Past President. The Missouri Women’s Council of REALTORS® also swore in their esteemed 2022 leadership team. I would like to congratulate Tammy Sherrell-Shortt, once again, on her installation as the 2022 Missouri Women’s Council of REALTORS® President.
I had the honor of being installed as the 2022 President of Missouri REALTORS® by dear friend and mentor, Kirkor Ajderhanyan. Friends and family were present, and it was an evening of celebration for all in attendance.
We wrapped up the conference on Friday morning with our Board of Directors meeting. Congratulations to Bobbi Howe, who joins the Leadership Team as Treasurer-Elect, and Bob Bax and Antwann Rhodes, who will fulfill our two vacant National Director positions this fall. I would also like to congratulate the following 2021 Missouri REALTORS® Good Neighbor Award recipients:
